Office365 FAQ

  • Why should I buy Office 365 through C2C?
  • C2C is Australia’s largest Office 365 provider.  Not all businesses have the same needs and with our experience we can make sure you choose the right Office 365 package and it is setup correctly taking into account the needs of your current environment.  We also take away the complexities of dealing with Telstra – especially if you’re not an existing Telstra customer.  If you are a Telstra customer we can also integrate Office 365 with your existing Telstra billing eliminating additional paperwork.  We make the whole process easy for you.

  • How long does it take to migrate to Office 365?
  • C2C’s migration process is usually performed over a weekend or other convenient two-day period. With a weekend migration, we take your existing systems offline at 5pm Friday, and your new environment is up and running before the start of business on Monday morning.  We take direction from you on when is the best time to start the migration process.  Also, a migration may not take as long as 2 days.  You can be up and running in no time but depending on the amount of historical data, the time of migrating this data is variable.

We have never lost anyone’s data, we provide 30-days of free support after migration to ensure your email is up and running and just the way you want it.  We ensure that your shared calendars, distribution groups, aliases, etc. are all in place with your move to Office 365.

  • How much does Office 365 licensing cost?
  • The cost varies according to your number of users and the Office 365 plan type you choose, but pay-as-you-go pricing provides predictability and flexibility. You can rapidly accommodate organisational growth or shrinkage, whether caused by changes to your existing business, or acquisitions and divestitures.  There are no contracts and C2C can advise on the right Office 365 plan for your business.

  • What exactly does Office 365 include?
  • In general, Office 365 combines the familiar Office desktop suite (always the latest versions of Office, so if you use Office 365, you will never be required to pay for an upgrade to the latest version of Office) with cloud-based versions of next-generation communications and collaboration services: email (Exchange Online), SharePoint Online and Lync Online.

Different Office 365 packages cater to the specific needs of small, medium and large organisations, cost effectively providing the functionality you need. You can transition between plans to accommodate organisational change.

Office 365 is simple to use and easy to administer – all backed by the robust security and financially backed, guaranteed reliability you expect from a world-class service provider.

The service level agreement (SLA) is underwritten by Microsoft as the hosted service provider.  Day to day support is provided by C2C, giving you customised support from an engineer who understands your environment.

  • Do I need to install anything?
  • If the Office 365 plan you have chosen includes subscriptions to Office 2013, your users will need to install Office 2013 Pro. (We can help you automate this.)

Otherwise, there is nothing to install.  Office 365 requires users to be on at least Outlook 2007 or 2010.  Also, Office 2013 requires a Windows 7 or 8 Operating system.

  • What if I’m offline? can I still access my documents?
  • Yes, email and data from SharePoint can be stored as a local copy on your PC, for easy access even when you’re offline. Next time you are online, changed documents and your email repository will be synchronised with the server.

  • Where is my data stored?
  • Office 365 leverages geographically dispersed data centres managed and operated by Microsoft. Each data centre houses a reliable redundant infrastructure needed to support the service.

  • Is it secure?
  • Yes, your data is completely protected. Microsoft runs physically and electronically secure data centres that store data for some of the world’s largest enterprises and government agencies.

  • How long will my email be down if I switch?
  • Your email system will be unavailable for a maximum of 1 hour from commencement of the migration. Most organisations plan for migration to be performed over a weekend, minimising interruption to business. This is totally dependent on the organisations domain host.  C2C manages the change within your domain host to switch your domain from pointing and forwarding all emails to your current email service to point to Office 365.  Typically the change only takes 30 minutes.  Once this happens, you can now access your new email account.  Once the change is made, we begin migration of your historical email data to your new account.  This is variable depending on how much data each person has in their mailbox to date.
